I love a good conspiracy theory, but not for the reasons you might think. I think the ridiculous ones are pure entertainment. The more serious ones can be thought provoking, even though usually they (probably) contain very little truth. They fascinate me partly because they reflect our innate desire that all roads of thought will eventually lead to some central Truth. They reflect our hope that there is a higher order in the universe, even if it is an evil order behind the curtain of our daily reality.
One of the hallmarks of a good conspiracy is that it’s all connected! Without actually analyzing any (they aren’t worth it), it’s simpler to just point out that a conspiracy usually jumps around all over a bunch of seemingly unrelated facts, and construct a story that explains everything.
If you read through the Bible, the prevailing message is like a giant, epic conspiracy. It is all connected. The universe really is constructed in order. A higher power is in control. His ways are above our ways. His thoughts are far above our thoughts. His plans can’t be contained in our minds. The history of the world is actually a gigantic love story, but if you zoom in at all it looks like millions of smaller stories. So many stories hardly make sense on their own. You have to understand the conspiracy. The Bible even calls it a mystery:
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory (1 Tim. 3:16).
So much of that truth is summed up in the word Emmanuel. God with us. He was conspiring from the beginning. The birth of Jesus split history in half, before and after. The story had started when an all-powerful God created a world, and fell in love with the people. He became one of them, to save them from themselves, and to assure that they could live with Him forever in harmony. His birth and His death as a sacrifice for our sins was literally “foreordained before the foundation of the world” (I Peter 1:20).

His love is the thread that connects it all. His Words will lead us to a central Truth. There are mysteries. Clearly, we need faith to believe it all. But why wouldn't you want to? As the Psalmist said, "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it." It's a beautiful mystery. It’s okay that we can’t fathom how all the pieces of the story interconnect. Some days it’s hard to make the connection between the God of the universe and the circumstances we are facing. But we can always cling to that central fact that we were loved since the beginning of time. He made hundreds of promises for those in between days. It’s all connected. His love never fails. He will never leave you or forsake you. He had a plan from the beginning, and that isn’t finished yet. He’s working on it. He’s always still conspiring.
